Every story deserves a next chapter. Fenn’s Little Fella is a painting that captures just that—a continuation of a story that began with Fenn, my original bear painting. This little cub exists as a reminder that what we create, nurture, and love doesn’t end with us; it carries on, growing into something new, yet still deeply connected to its roots.
As a mother of two incredible children, I see in this painting my own hopes for them, to move forward boldly, to grow into the best versions of themselves, and to always carry with them the strength of where they came from. I hope, in some small way, I’ve inspired them to embrace who they are, to trust in their path, and to know that they are never truly alone. Just like Fenn’s Little Fella, they are part of something bigger—part of a story still being written, with love at its core.

With the painting of my first bear, I knew I needed a name that truly embodied what I want this bear to represent—something that resonated deeply with me. I wanted a name that carried meaning, a sense of adventure, and a connection to the wild. So I intoroduce you to Fenn. Inspired by the story of Forest Fenn, a man who hid a cache of gold in the Rocky Mountains, not just for the thrill of the hunt, but to encourage people to get outside, explore, and embrace the beauty of nature. His story sparked curiosity and movement, drawing people into the vast, untamed landscapes of the wilderness. That idea of discovery—of stepping into the unknown, of finding something valuable not just in the treasure itself but in the journey—felt like the perfect parallel to my own creative exploration and what I hope to inspire in others.
For me, the mountains have always been a place of solace and renewal, a space where the noise of everyday life fades, replaced by the crisp air and the grounding presence of towering peaks. I want Fenn, my first bear, to carry that same essence—to be a symbol of strength, curiosity, and the call to move, to seek, to experience the world with open eyes and an open heart. Just as Forest Fenn’s treasure drew adventurers into the wild, I hope my Fenn invites others to pause, to appreciate the beauty around them, and to reconnect with the natural world. Naming him is not just about a label; it is about setting the tone for every bear that will hopefully come after, a reminder that there’s always something worth seeking, whether it’s deep in the wilderness or within ourselves.
